In-Situ Measurements of Water’s Physical-Chemical Parameters
The Hach HQ40 multimeter is used to measure various water parameters in the field. The procedure begins by turning on the instrument and selecting the desired parameter from the navigation menu.
A water sample is collected and prepared and the multimeter’s probe is immersed in the sample to obtain real-time readings of the selected parameter, such as pH, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, temperature, salinity, or turbidity. After each measurement, the probe is thoroughly cleaned and the instrument is stored according to the manufacturer’s instructions to maintain its integrity and accuracy over time.
This procedure ensures precise evaluation of water parameters, which is crucial for effectively monitoring and managing water resources in various applications.
