Radon measurements with passive dosimetry
SUPSI Image Focus
The average radon concentration in a building, expressed in Bq/m³, varies depending on the characteristics of the underlying ground, the building’s structural features, and how the premises are used. For each housing unit, at least two dosimeters must be placed in rooms with long occupancy times, preferably on levels in direct contact with the ground. Any additional measurement points should be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
After the request has been submitted, the instruments are sent to the client by post, together with an instruction sheet for installation (also available under Useful documents) and a form. The completed form must be returned together with the instruments at the end of the measurement period.
The instruments can be requested by completing this form (in Italian). Each request must refer to a single building.
Furthermore, it is mandatory to provide the details of the building’s owner (if different from the applicant) for the property to be monitored.
The service centre’s fees are listed under Useful documents.
