The project, conducted by the Dalle Molle Institute for Artificial Intelligence (IDSIA USI-SUPSI), was awarded the prize by the autonomous organisation Fondazione Dalle Molle per la qualità della vita.
REMIT (Remotely-assisted Enhanced Mirror Therapy) uses virtual reality and an exoskeleton to enhance mirror therapy for the recovery of lost hand function.
By being able to connect remotely to the virtual therapy environment, we aim to improve the condition of both patients and therapists.
The project was developed by Antonio Paolillo, Gabriele Abbate and Prof. Alessandro Giusti from IDSIA together with Luca Randazzo, Co-founder and CEO of Emovo Care.
