The audit confirmed that the Bachelor's degree complies with all 10 quality standards. In their evaluation report, the experts highlighted, in particular, the consistency of the architect's skill set with the needs of the profession and the region. Other positive aspects that emerged include the integration and strengthening of design topics such as residential construction, reuse, and redevelopment, which are considered significant for the region, in the teaching program; the excellent synergies between education and research; the interdisciplinary modules and the variety of assessment methods.
With a view to continuous improvement and to guide the future development of the Bachelor's program, the procedure identified interesting areas for development, such as strengthening coordination between areas and modules, optimizing the workload of students, and strengthening dialogue with local professional and academic partners.
The external expert committee that assessed the Bachelor's program's compliance with the standards was composed of:
- Paola Tosolini, Architect IUAV EPFL SIA and Associate Professor HES-SO HEPIA, Geneva – Chair of the Committee;
- Andrea Bassi, Architect SUPSI EAUG BSA/FAS SIA, owner of BCMA architectes, Geneva;
- Marco Della Torre, Architect POLIMI, Director and Head of the Study Program at the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio (USI) and Head of the “Teatro dell'Architettura”;
- Enea Pazzinetti, Architect SUPSI OTIA, co-owner of the Guscetti Pazzinetti Pedimina Architetti studio, Ambrì.
The process is an integral part of the SUPSI Quality Assurance System and involves gathering opinions and actively involving students, graduates, teachers, employers, technical and administrative staff, representatives of key services, and representatives of institutional management.
We congratulate the Steering Group, the Bachelor's Program Manager, and all those who contributed to the achievement of this important milestone!
