The Department's competence centres and laboratories support companies, organisations and institutions by providing targeted advice and services to develop tailor-made solutions to specific problems.
Advisory and supervisory activities for institutions for the elderly
Thanks to the numerous relations established with local facilities and organisations, the Competence Centre on Ageing has woven a dense external network that enables it to respond effectively to any emerging needs. Performance mandates concern projects but also consultancy or supervision activities.
Analysis of professional practices in healthcare
The CPPS Centre responds to requests from institutions and services that wish to analyse work processes, develop and/or implement interventions and evaluate their acceptability and effectiveness.
CCA Documentation Centre
The Department of Business Economics, Health and Social Care and its predecessors have often and successfully worked in the field of gerontology and geriatrics. In order not to lose the wealth of knowledge acquired over the years, as well as to remain up-to-date in order to offer quality services, the Competence Centre on Ageinghas equipped itself with a documentation centre.
Definition and evaluation of healthcare policies
The CPPS centre is able to process empirical and literature data in order to outline macro and micro aspects of healthcare policy on which institutions can base and/or reorient their strategic directions.
Institutional and organisational analysis in healthcare
The CPPS Centre analyses the structural and organisational characteristics of institutions and services in order to highlight virtuous mechanisms, correct unfavourable dynamics and improve efficiency and quality of performance.
Inventory of studies on the elderly population in Ticino
The Competence Centre on Ageing, in cooperation with the Council of the Elderly of the Canton of Ticino, compiled an inventory of existing research on persons aged 65 and over living in Ticino.
Migration Documentation and Research Center
Through the Migration Documentation and Research Center, CLWS responds to a request from cantonal and federal authorities by analyzing the relationship between migration policies, integrative policies and the living conditions of the foreign population in Switzerland.
Services for the adaptation and implementation of management tools
Services are one-off intervention activities of the Competence Centre for Management and Entrepreneurship in favour of a local company, body or institution with the aim of developing tailor-made solutions to specific problems.
