This page brings together some relevant information and presents it in a summarised manner. Detailed information on the Centre for Development and Cooperation is available by visiting the Centre's website.

The Centre for Development and Cooperation carries out applied research projects on issues related to development, cooperation and humanitarian aid in the Global South as well as in relation to the Global North. Research projects are based on the long-standing experience of SUPSI researchers and mostly involve long-term partnerships with academic and non-academic institutions in Switzerland and abroad. Research activities contribute to the Agenda 2030 and are in line with the 6 principels of the Swiss Alliance for Global Research Partnerships.

Migration and society

Migration is a human phenomenon that has shaped societies and humanity throughout history. Migration is an increasingly global issue, linking people, places and futures, and is more and more discussed in the context of (sustainable) development and humanitarianism. In collaboration with other academic and non-governmental institutions, as well as public and private partners, the Centre participates in projects on migration processes at local and international levels, assessing their opportunities and challenges, focusing on people, involved societies and communities.

Art and society: creative paths to peace and social transformation

The arts have the potential to disrupt our daily realities, offering us a mirror or interruption of our normalized everyday life. In multiple contexts around the world, various artistic disciplines are activated in social, peacebuilding, historical memory, and cross-cultural communication projects.
