Francesca Pallotti graduated in Economics from LUISS University in Rome and obtained an MSc in Health Care Policy and Management from the University of Birmingham (UK) and a PhD in Economics and Management of Healthcare Companies from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart. She has been an associate professor at the Business School of the University of Exeter (UK), an associate professor at the Business School of the University of Greenwich, and a senior researcher at the University of Lugano.
Francesca Pallotti has been a visiting professor at several universities in Europe, America, and Australia, and has gained extensive teaching experience at undergraduate, postgraduate, PhD, and executive levels in international contexts. Her research focuses on the analysis of collaborative and competitive dynamics within organisational communities, with a focus on the use of social network analysis models. In particular, she studies organisational design and change, the role of leadership, the motivations that drive intra- and inter-organisational relationships, and the impact of cognitive categories and social identities on organisational interactions. She analyses these phenomena in different contexts – from banks to hospitals to prisons – using a predominantly quantitative approach based on empirical data, both longitudinal and cross-sectional. Her work has been published in prestigious international academic journals in the fields of management, sociology and healthcare organisation.
Appointed by the SUPSI Council as Full Professor of Management and Organisational Behaviour, Francesca Pallotti has taken over the leadership of the Competence Centre for Management and Entrepreneurship, succeeding Domenico Ferrari, who has become Co-Director of SUPSI's Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) programme.
SUPSI congratulates Francesca Pallotti on her prestigious appointment and renews its thanks to Domenico Ferrari for his valuable contribution over the years at the helm of the CMI.
