Building management and energy efficiency
The Building Management team works in the field of the state of preservation of buildings, their energy and functional upgrading, and the proper management of buildings and spaces through the use of digital tools such as the Building Information Model (BIM).
The team's more than a decade of experience in the building renovation sector means that it is involved in research projects, innovative services and basic and continuing education courses. In the field of research, the team collaborates with important public institutions such as the Logistics Section of the canton of Ticino and the state pension fund, various schools and research institutes, e.g. the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne and the University of Geneva, as well as numerous private offices in the canton and Switzerland. The team's focus over the years has been on the analysis and sustainable management of housing stock, developing management strategies and monitoring and planning tools.
The main services/mandates performed are described either through internal or external procedures as follows.
The main services/mandates performed are described either through internal or external procedures as follows.
- Analyses of the state of preservation of buildings and proposals for redevelopment through the use of innovative tools developed in-house using the latest digital technologies. The purpose of the proposed analyses is to plan maintenance and renovation work over time, considering the necessary costs and profitability of the intervention.
- Evaluation of the energy efficiency of buildings and related energy refurbishment proposals. In this case, it is possible to know in addition to the state of preservation of the main building elements and installations also their thermal quality with a view to defining the energy efficiency of the building. On this basis, appropriate intervention measures can be defined.
- Assessment of the correct level of building operation and maintenance with a view to process optimisation. Acquisition of building performance data and subsequent analysis with a view to improving the operational phase of the buildings.
