Internal evaluations
Internal evaluations are central to continuous improvement. Each unit and process of the School is responsible for their implementation.
Several documented and formalised evaluation tools are provided for the development of the Quality Assurance System. Particular attention is paid to the quality of undergraduate and graduate studies, the quality of continuing education and the quality of research and services.
Evaluation of Processes and Quality Handbooks
Quality Assurance System processes are documented, published and reviewed regularly to ensure they are up-to-date and shared at various levels of the School.
Satisfaction evaluation
On a regular basis, opinions and evaluations are collected from students, both during their education and at the end of it. Training activities for the academic staff, through continuing education courses and semester offerings, are evaluated promptly by participants. Satisfaction is also assessed by local companies and organisations involved in training, as well as in research projects and service mandates. The satisfaction of all SUPSI employees is also evaluated every four years.
Internal self-assessments
The self-assessments are carried out by the different units within the Departments and affiliated Schools on their respective activities. Undergraduate and graduate studies regularly assesses through formalised procedures and tools the quality of courses, verifying the implementation and effectiveness of improvement measures.
Continuing education, with periodic evaluation at the system level structured on 5 dimensions, makes it possible to provide a clear track for future development. In the field of research, major research projects and service mandates are evaluated for yearly reporting based on indicators.
Indicators
The performance contract with Canton Ticino provides a set of objectives, based on general indicators, to evaluate the School's various activities and performance. For each process of the Quality Assurance System, as well as within different units of the School, indicators have also been defined, to verify the achievement of the objectives set and evaluate any improvement measures.
