SIS4Care – Systemic Innovations for Sustainable Care
The SIS4Care Area aims to promote innovation in the Swiss healthcare system by supporting territorial care models, prevention and digital transformation. The goal is to build a systemic and collaborative framework for designing sustainable solutions, developed through a co-creative approach together with healthcare professionals, patients, public bodies and businesses.
The Swiss healthcare system faces increasingly challenging issues that threaten its long-term sustainability. Rising healthcare costs, demographic changes, the growing prevalence of chronic diseases and a shortage of healthcare professionals are placing a strain on both financial and human resources.
Concerns are growing about federal health expenditure, the affordability of medical care, social vulnerabilities and resulting health inequalities, and poor general health literacy.
To ensure a sustainable future in the healthcare sector, systemic transformations are needed, such as the shift from hospital-centred models to community-based care, the exploitation of digital innovations, and the prioritisation of preventive strategies.
The “Systemic Innovations for Sustainable Care - SIS4Care” area aims to support these complex transformations through a systemic and transdisciplinary approach, promoting sustainable care through:
