The IABMAS conference, organised by the International Association for Bridge Maintenance and Safety from 24 to 28 June 2024 (and celebrating its 25th anniversary this year), brings together researchers, practitioners and professionals every two years with the aim of promoting state-of-the-art advances in the fields of bridge maintenance, safety, risk, resilience, sustainability and management.

Guided by Deborah Briccola, lecturer of the course ‘Bridge: Design, Construction and Repair’ at the SUPSI Master of Science in Engineering - Civil Engineering profile (the head of the Master is professor Ezio Cadoni), the students Simone De Maria, Roberto Galli, Danilo Greco, Alessandro Moscatelli and the newly graduated Daniele Duzzi had the opportunity to present, in a context of more than 700 experts in the field, the results of their thesis and in-depth study activities carried out in the field of modern challenges related to the analysis and management of strategic infrastructures in the territory.

Specifically, the contributions touched on complementary aspects related to bridge engineering.

‘IABMAS 24 allowed our students to enrich their educational experience by coming into contact with professionals who for years have been developing and providing solutions to current civil engineering challenges. An important moment of growth both from a technical and personal point of view, a valuable opportunity for our students to build solid bridges between knowledge and skills'. These are the words of a proud Deborah Briccola as she launches the appointment for future Master students for the next edition, scheduled for 2026 in Orlando, Florida.
