Presentation, Orientation, and Welcome Aperitif
The welcome event began with an information session aimed at providing a comprehensive overview of the administrative and practical aspects of life in Ticino. During the presentation, students were introduced to the academic processes shaping their chosen study paths, the main services offered—from career guidance to sports activities, as well as the MySUPSI card with its benefits—and some local highlights, such as annual events and culinary traditions, laying a solid foundation for positive integration into the academic and social environment.
Afterward, a convivial aperitif took place, offering the perfect opportunity to make first connections with the Buddies, SUPSI student volunteers who support the integration of newcomers, and to share experiences in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. During the event, three students from the RETECA Foundation were also welcomed. They are engaged in post-graduate training or research activities in the fields of electronic and electrical engineering applied sciences and come from developing countries. Their presence further enriched the cultural and academic exchange among all students.
A Semester Full of Opportunities
With the start of the fall semester, there is an atmosphere of excitement and curiosity. International students, coming from diverse cultural and academic backgrounds, are ready to fully engage in their studies while also exploring the social and cultural life of Ticino. Their presence will help make SUPSI an even more international and stimulating environment, where education and cultural exchange meet in a unique way.
The Departments’ Enthusiasm
Mobility coordinators and SUPSI departments have expressed great satisfaction with the arrival of these students, which represents an important step in strengthening SUPSI’s role as a center of excellence both nationally and internationally. Their participation enriches the academic community by bringing new perspectives and fostering a comprehensive learning experience. The International Office and the departments will support them throughout the semester, ensuring a successful period marked by internationality and high-quality learning.
