Biosafety - IM

Sector

The Biosafety sector focuses primarily on the analysis of highly pathogenic agents, typically in environmental samples, and in case of biological incidents (ABC concept). Its service activities focus on public health protection, addressing not only bioterrorism alarms but also the analysis of contaminated environmental samples hazardous to humans and animals, as well as investigations of pathogens transmitted by vector organisms, such as mosquitoes.
Research is primarily centered on microorganisms in disease vectors, such as mosquito-borne viruses, their spread, transmission risks, and antiviral agents.
