Over the past decades, numerous studies on the elderly population have been conducted in Ticino. These are projects of undoubted interest, although often confined to specific topics, areas of the canton or segments of the population. They are the result of individual initiatives and do not form part of a common research programme. Added to this is the fact that, in the absence of a catalogue of the various studies as well as of a documentation centre bringing together the publications relating to them, many of these works are unknown to most people, with the risk of valuable information being lost.

The inventory of studies on the elderly population has the ambition of filling this gap, thanks to a reasoned mapping of research on the elderly population living in our canton. Most of the publications in the inventory can be consulted at the Documentation Centre of the CCA.
